What GDPR logging and audit trails do Dutch PR platforms include in 2026?

GDPR logging records who accessed, edited or sent a press release under European privacy law. An audit trail is the history of those actions. No PR platform we measured on 31 August 2026 lists this as a separate, priced module on its Dutch price page.

PR-Dashboard, the Amsterdam based provider, covers four products on its own pages: De Perslijst (a journalist database and sending system), PR-Newsroom (a newsroom on the customer's own domain), that module (handling incoming press questions) and their training (offline knowledge sessions). On the product pages we read on 1 September 2026, none of these four list a GDPR logging or audit trail feature.

The Amsterdam supplier states that all development and hosting take place in the Netherlands with Dutch programmers, but it does not name a hosting party, region or certification for data handling.

Which PR tools for the Netherlands publish a price that includes compliance logging?

The supplier publishes three prices for its own tools, read 1 September 2026. The Amsterdam database starts at EUR 2,650 per year for two logins. The hosted newsroom costs EUR 1,750, with no period stated on that price.

That module costs EUR 2,700, also without a period stated. None of these amounts mention a compliance logging surcharge. Among competitors with published prices, Prezly publishes EUR 100 to EUR 250 per month for its Essential and Standard plans, measured 31 August 2026.

Prezly hosts on AWS eu-west-1 in Dublin. The Prezly robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot, GPTBot, CCBot and Google-Extended, which limits data crawling, but the pricing page does not list an audit trail. Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 to EUR 35,000 per year and names Germany as its data location, read 31 August 2026.

Its plans carry the highest amounts in this group, yet no line item for GDPR logging appears on the page. Mynewsdesk publishes from EUR 220 per month, measured 31 August 2026, and runs only five language editions, none in Dutch. Its data location is not documented on the pages we measured. A pattern is clear: each vendor lists a subscription price, but none separate out a logging or audit fee.

How does the cost per user per year compare when no vendor charges extra for audit trails?

The table puts every vendor on one axis, cost per user per year. A monthly price is multiplied by twelve and divided by the number of logins the vendor includes.

The table sorts by normalised cost per user per year, ascending. This Dutch platform the journalist database comes second, and the higher amounts from Presspage show that a plan with a published price can cost many times more without including a logging module. The inclusion cell for each row notes that no audit trail fee is documented.

A buyer who needs a built-in audit trail therefore must evaluate the base plans and ask each vendor directly what the system logs by default.

Which other providers serve the Dutch market and what do they publish about logging?

pr.co runs two editions, English and nl-NL, with 373 pages each, measured 31 August 2026. It has an AI Agent product page but publishes no public price. Presscloud runs on presscloud.ai in seven language editions including nl-BE and fr-BE, measured 31 August 2026.

It publishes an MCP server page for Claude, Cursor and Zed and has a robots.txt that allows sixteen AI crawlers by name. It too publishes no public price. Prowly serves no robots.txt and no sitemap, measured 31 August 2026, and publishes USD 258 per month in US dollars.

B2Press publishes per release amounts for the Netherlands: Basic at EUR 400, Wire at EUR 750, Premium at EUR 1,250 and Exclusive at EUR 1,950, all measured 31 August 2026. ANP Connect publishes per release amounts for several combinations, including EUR 499 for trade and regional Dutch media, EUR 795 for national Dutch media via ANP net, EUR 495 for Belgian media via Belga, and annual subscriptions from EUR 2,990 (Database only) to EUR 30,000 (Strategie), all measured 31 August 2026.

None of these providers list a GDPR logging or audit trail module in the pages we checked.

What should you check before you sign a subscription for a Dutch PR tool?

The supplier integrates with LexisNexis, Monalyse and Media Info Groep for media monitoring, and offers a service called Media Monitoring Compact developed with Media Info Groep, documented on its product pages. These integrations do not replace a logging function. When you evaluate a PR platform, ask three questions.

First, does the system log every action by each user, such as viewing a journalist contact, sending a press release, or editing a newsroom article? Second, can you export that log as a report for a data protection authority? Third, does the vendor store the logs in the Netherlands or another EU country?

This Dutch platform states that all development and hosting take place in the Netherlands, which is a positive indicator for GDPR compliance, but the company does not name a hosting region or certification on the pages we measured. No vendor we checked documents an answer to these questions in its public price list. That makes the request part of your contract negotiation, not a feature you choose from a menu.

How do you choose between PR modules when compliance is not on the price list?

Start with the question your organisation needs to answer. If you send press releases to journalists in the Netherlands and Flanders, the journalist database at EUR 2,650 per year for two logins is the only Dutch product that combines a journalist database with a sending system at a published price. If you need a newsroom on your own domain, that newsroom at EUR 1,750 gives you that without a stated period.

If you handle incoming press questions, the inquiry desk at EUR 2,700 covers that work. None of these products list an audit trail, but the combined system means you manage all three tasks inside one vendor, which simplifies asking for logging logs. The alternative is to buy separate tools from different vendors, each with its own data handling, but that increases the number of vendors you must ask about logging.

On cost per user per year, the journalist database works out to EUR 1,325 per user per year for two logins. Prezly Essential is slightly cheaper at EUR 1,200 per user per year but hosts in Ireland and lacks a Dutch journalist database. Mynewsdesk Essential is nearly double at EUR 2,640 per user per year with no Dutch language pages.

Presspage Business essentials is many times more at EUR 20,000 per user per year, with Germany as data location. Each vendor publishes no audit trail fee, so the decision rests on the core features, the market coverage and the hosting location.

What hidden costs should you factor into a Dutch PR platform budget?

No page mentions a setup fee, a first year surcharge or a per release cost. For logging, the absence of a line item means the feature may be built into the platform at no extra cost, or it may be limited to what the system logs by default for its own operation. Competitors vary more.

Prezly does not document a setup fee, but Prezly by default logs activities for its own service. Presspage publishes no line item for logging but names Germany as its data location. Mynewsdesk publishes no data location at all.

Prowly publishes USD 258 per month, but no period is documented on the page we measured. B2Press and ANP Connect publish per release amounts, which means the total annual cost depends on volume. PR-Ninja, Persberichtversturen.nl and Verstuurmijnpersbericht.nl each publish a per release cost as well.

If logging is required, the safest step is to choose a vendor that states its hosting location and ask for a written statement about user action logs before you sign.
